At 12 noon on 28th October Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the world’s first Ferrari theme park and the largest attraction of its kind, will open its doors to the public. Guests will be amongst the first to experience the thrill of over 20 unique rides and attractions including the world’s fastest roller coaster which travels from 0-100 in under 2 seconds. There are several exciting surprises in store for the opening day.

Formula Rossa – The world’s fastest roller coaster, reaching speeds of 240 kmph.

Scuderia Challenge – Cutting edge racing simulators similar to those used by the drivers of the Scuderia Ferrari in training.

The Search for the Perfect Walker

As my baby girl is experiencing her first attempts into self operated human beings world. Therefor, I went into a trip in the one and only AVENUES to search for the perfect walker. The perfect walker in my point of view should have 4 particular characteristics:
One: It should flatter your baby’s eye color and highlights! “ kidding” but really, look for a fun one with crazy dangling jungle animals , buttons, spins, lights, sounds. Just go for a miniature theme part on a walker.
Second: If you live in an apartment or a small space, look for smaller size walker. You really don’t want your baby’s first steps to be full of accidents bangs into every single piece of furniture in your house!
Third: seat should be well cushioned, comfortable and suitable to your baby’s size . A baby in a walker should be able to move inside her/his seat.
Fourth: price .. please don’t go crazy buying your kid the Bentley walker! They will grow out of it in a heartbeat or get bored of it in an eye blink.

So I started my search, putting in mind my four guidelines. The first place was my favorite kids zone " Mama's & Papa's".

I might love mamas and papas because it makes me feel like a catalogue parent, wearing the best pencil skirt ever with my peach ruffled shirt and pushing my baby with neatest stroller down a trees lined street. I was shocked that M&P’s only has one walker to offer. I didn’t like it since the wheels base was very wide.

Now out to MotherCare, It’s the kids place we “ young mommies” actually inherited from our moms. They had 4 different walkers in display but I was not convinced with the price.

Baroue is always a valid option for confused mothers, They had more than 8 kinds and styles of walkers with various price range. I saw one that matches my baby’s swing that I bought earlier. But I was never a big fan of matchy matchy stuff.

So I went to the next best thing: simple, light, colorful, with lots of noise and flashing lights. The seat is hugging and well padded. Snagged it and couldn’t wait till I see those little chubby feats dangling trying to reach the flour. She liked it, was really excited to be standing by herself.

!Nutellaholic .. Not so holic

So I was hypnotized by the pictures and the thought, I saw it on ilsul6ana while I was at work “ fasting” and thought today it will be the day to actually ruin my Diet Care based Fotour and add the component of this yummy looking Wooowey sounding dessert . Picked the phone and insisted that my colleague order her own sinful yumminess as well.

It came, and it was not good! The outer backed cake was jelly like! Flabby and not consistent at all. The promised Nutella filling was water like! No thickness No texture and NO TASTE of Nutella! The home backed goodie that I usually appreciate was a real disappointment.
I am sorry my dear Nutellaholic – Nutella Molten Cake, But It was really not so holic !

Panadol Sinus VS. Otrivin

If you don’t know what’s Otrivin yet, you might be one of the 27% lucky people world wide who does not have seasonal flue or casual cold every now and then!
Unfortunately I know Otrivin very well as it sleeps next to me in the night when I have runny nose then blocked nose all in consecutive twenty minutes.

Otrivin is a magical nasal drops or spray that tend to open any blockage and defeat any inconvenience caused by that mysterious thingS that prevent you from breathing good and tasting food.

1 spray before sleeping will do the magic, dosage warning is fishy and the long term use of Otrivin is not recommended by doctors. Its not appreciated to take a spray or drop of Otrivin more than 3 times a day, and its extremely advised against using Otrivin for 4 days in a row. Claims of side effects like fast heart beats and lower blood pressure, not to mention the rumor that suggests Otrivin being highly addictive.

In spite of all that, I love Otrivin and NEED to use it in the night when all the gates are closed and no air comes to my brains, Plus I hate when I breath from my mouth!

All that was applied till I tried the gentle on stomach Panadol Sinus, The box is purple which is my favorite color and the bills are small and swallowing friendly. I was not sure that It will be as fast and effective as Otrivin, But it was.

So people who are already hooked on Otrivin, ditch the white tinny bottle that you’ve been sniffing all day long, and switch to Panadol Sinus.

Its healthier and will not cause any itchiness in your sute little noses.

I first heard about Hiba Hamada when I was in high school, she was friends with my cousins and went to the same school they went to. I personally knew Hiba Hamada in college when we shared the same campus but different majors. Hiba and I also shared a passion for writing, we used to sit in a wooden bench and read to each other our creative productions of short stories, poetry and texts.

We always knew that Hiba is extremely talented, and that one day she will be someone who influence the masses with either a book or a novel. Never thought that her celebrity will extend to actually enter every house in Kuwait!

Hiba – to the two people who just came out of a dungeon– is the one who writes the highly appreciated, respected and anticipated Ramadan TV drama serious. She started with “ Fudha Galbha Abyath” and continued with “ Abla Noura” starring Hayat Al Fahad, and still shinning this season with both “ Omaima Fi Dar Al Aytam” and “Zwarat Khamees”.

Hiba sais that her parents played big role in shinig her raw talent: “ In my parents hand every creature turns into a diamond in the rough” said Hiba. And she did, she also turned into this star, whom not only brought back the sparks into Kuwaiti drama shows, but also set the bar extremely high to those who think that they will capture the reviwers attention with anything and everything they present.

I realized also the new path Hiba is leading the local TV shows into. With 3 out of 5 of her previous and recent work, she adopted the form of ensemble “ group stardom” . In both her scenarios this year we notice that there is no leading role or an ultimate star! There is a group of well chosen actors and actresses put together to tell one big story.

People seem to really like the new style, talented young actors are taking their shine time and Hiba is getting more recognized by the day.

Way to go my friend .. I am truly proud of you.

Diet Care .. To eat or not to eat!

I was very suspicious of it, contemplating .. speculating whether it will work or not! Most importantly, Will be delicious enough to keep me coming back till I loose the baby weight I’ve been packing since January?

I started dieting 2 weeks before Ramadan, Feeling it, putting myself on it and being the good girl I’ve always been when U.S trip is getting closer and a shopping euphoria is promised. I have to get in shape before the end of September. Impossible? Experts sais its very doable with the right state of mind and well power. Courtney Kardashian is not better than me neither Kendra Wilkinson!

Yes its true that they have to be in shape for a living, Yes its true that they have the time and resources to have personal trainers and private healthy food chefs, but it doesn’t matter!! I have my elliptical machine and Diet Care Boutique just two minutes away from home.

Here I come Zahra Co-op : My first visit to the DC kiosk:
Hmmmmmm too many choices and so much to think about, The dishes doesn’t seem so diety to me specially when I am Dr. Bader Al Nasrallah graduate in my first child baby weight loss! How will I loose weight eating Koshari, Biryani, Penne Arabiatta and Sweet Cups?

Its all about the calories and with my weight and height I have to consume 1200 calories a day and Ramadan is just the right time to boycott my mom’s Iftar table with all the naughty stuff on it. I go to DC kiosk every day at 3:pm to choose my dish and extras. I don’t eat Sohour so I can actually consume all my calories by Iftar.

Surprisingly .. Its really good, very yummy and very satisfying.

Work of Art on Bravo

To whom never heard about Bravo, It’s an American Channel mostly specialized in creative reality shows. Since the husband is an ITunes freak, I am lucky enough to have to watch the latest from this amazing channel that inspires me and amuse me in the same time.

Work Of Art is my new found favorite show, Why? Ill tell ya
First, its produced by the one and only Sara Jessica Parker a.k.a Carry Bradshaw – Sex & The City – Fashion Icon and highly talented.

Secondly, It deals with Art in its raw shape. A bunch of artists were chosen to perform their own amazing art “ painting, illustrating, photography, sculpting .. etc”.

They put them under this huge amount of pressure: lack of time and inspiration, Very competitive atmosphere, getting criticized every day and judges brutally by a panel of art experts.

I always thought that a real artists should not be told what and when to practice his/her art! But this show proved other wise.

The show is interesting because it shows you the true colors of artists: the fake, the highly creative, the crazy, the mild and the surprising. Some of them were really trapped in the typical form of haunted tortured creative souls that was constantly ridiculed by the modern type artists! Some of them didn’t even know any other form of art but of themselves, narcissistic type and the world revolves around them.

Despite all the conflict and the pressure, You will see some amazing work of Art. Will be wowed by the work they produce in such short notice, being obligated to execute a given theme or idea. Sara J. Parker makes two appearances in the show. And the panel of judges are very tough and educative.

November Bakery .. what not to like?

Maybe one thing .. But I will say it after I gush about the beautiful place and the lovely hard working owner “ good things first” this is my motto.

The place itself is like a fresh breeze coming to you from central Paris, the simple interiors and all the cute feminine items you see here and there. The smell of freshly iced cupcakes and the big make believe display of a huge wedding cake in the center table, makes you just want to touch it to see if it was real or not!?

You can actually see numerous of finger prints on the fondant left by people whom curiosity just didn’t let it go .. Not judgment .. I WAS ONE!
Flowers, here and there .. silk and natural and the sight of about - to- wed couples just coming to negotiate the duo of good deal and design to their dream wedding cake makes you smile.

One of my favorite cake designer and cake makers in Kuwait is November Bakery which just recently opened their highly anticipated shop in Tilal complex “ behind city center Shuweikh”.

My experience with them was amazing, I always got what I wanted shape and taste. The cakes I ordered were divine and the treatment I got from the lovely Bibi Hayat and her staf was priceless.

The above is my cake for the husband in his 33rd birthday, He was waiting for his Iphone 4 to be shipped from the UK and It was taking its time! So the theme cake was his Iphone 4 “ thought it might ease his wait”.

The only problem I faced with November is the mix up of order. I have changed my flavor decision one day prior to the delivery date from half vanilla half red velvet to all red velvet, and got the confirmation from the philippina on the phone. The cake unfortunately came unchanged. The same thing happened with my corporate order, as I changed my order from all red velvet to half red velvet half chocolate fudge and got the confirmation, but the cake showed up all red velvet!

Dose that make me not to like NOVEMBER?

I was thrilled when I knew that Crocks is having these two special edition "Hello Kitty" for girlies, "Mcqween Car" for boys clogs in their Discovery located store. My little angle is crazy about Hello Kitty so she might be getting one soon.

Crocks are so cute, trendy and very casual .. did I mention comfortable and light? Yes I sill hold my heart when the little one is sporting one while on an escalator! But that panic mode will go as soon as I say JUMP and we take the leap on time.

Don’t worry .. buy them and let the little ones enjoy them, just make sure that the foot does not get too close to the end point of an escalator.

Bashi's Rainbow Cake

Yes call me a baby, call me a mommy, call me whatever you want. But I jumped on board when I saw this multi colors multi layers cake. I am a sucker for layers, a sucker for colors, and need I say it? A sucker for CAKE ..so sue me!

On a Thursday I got it delivered! The husband was not thrilled for the artificial looking colors but the look in my daughter’s face when I cut it was priceless. The Rainbow cake that I first spotted at my beloved ilsul6na blog was in my house and I was going to try it. The cake is well stacked let me start with that, needs some moist to keep the crumbling in control. It consist of two flavors, Vanilla and Red velvet. The rest of the colors are just colors. When I cut it, it almost fall apart which I did not like.

It tasted descent, very sweet and the cream filling in between just added more sweetness to the rainbow which made it "kids heaven, teeth concious mommy's hell"

The cake is not so adults friendly, No regrets though! my daughter went on eating a piece everyday till I decided to cut a big part and send it packed in foil to my friend’s house.

The rainbow cake is a good choice for a family gathering full of kids, They will be amazed.

Why This Blog ?

It might be such a bad idea since I always complain that I have so much in my plate! It might be such a bad idea also since Its 12:45 in the night and I am coming down with a cold! But when I was doing the first simple steps of actually starting a new blog, my heart beats were racing! So I know Its something exciting to have blood pumping in my heart so hard in the midst of the night while my nose is running and my throat is itching!!

Forensicq8 Is not a crime scene blog - don’t get so excited - hence the green sunny look an sporting in my blog! Its mainly a humble blog to jibber jabber in English since this language allows me to listen less and talk more. Its also something my husband can read since his Arabic is not that good at all, and he was never able to read my first blog which was strictly in Arabic.

Why Forensic?
Because in this blog I will try to go the extra yard and actually blog about the stuff that people in Kuwait are blogging about without trying! I will try it for you and tell ya. The yummy treats we see looking at us and calling us without mercy. The cakes, the bakes, the cupcakes and the dishes, the services the places the items, the offers and the attitudes and all the things we might see in between.

I will try to go through stuff in a forensic expert’s eye, wearing my gloves and doing my thing! putting aside my emotional turmoil if it was that time of a month or when my 3 years old just decides to drive me crazy, all that will be put aside and I will be just me, THE EXPERT IN EVERYTHING’S TRUE.
