The Search for the Perfect Walker

As my baby girl is experiencing her first attempts into self operated human beings world. Therefor, I went into a trip in the one and only AVENUES to search for the perfect walker. The perfect walker in my point of view should have 4 particular characteristics:
One: It should flatter your baby’s eye color and highlights! “ kidding” but really, look for a fun one with crazy dangling jungle animals , buttons, spins, lights, sounds. Just go for a miniature theme part on a walker.
Second: If you live in an apartment or a small space, look for smaller size walker. You really don’t want your baby’s first steps to be full of accidents bangs into every single piece of furniture in your house!
Third: seat should be well cushioned, comfortable and suitable to your baby’s size . A baby in a walker should be able to move inside her/his seat.
Fourth: price .. please don’t go crazy buying your kid the Bentley walker! They will grow out of it in a heartbeat or get bored of it in an eye blink.

So I started my search, putting in mind my four guidelines. The first place was my favorite kids zone " Mama's & Papa's".

I might love mamas and papas because it makes me feel like a catalogue parent, wearing the best pencil skirt ever with my peach ruffled shirt and pushing my baby with neatest stroller down a trees lined street. I was shocked that M&P’s only has one walker to offer. I didn’t like it since the wheels base was very wide.

Now out to MotherCare, It’s the kids place we “ young mommies” actually inherited from our moms. They had 4 different walkers in display but I was not convinced with the price.

Baroue is always a valid option for confused mothers, They had more than 8 kinds and styles of walkers with various price range. I saw one that matches my baby’s swing that I bought earlier. But I was never a big fan of matchy matchy stuff.

So I went to the next best thing: simple, light, colorful, with lots of noise and flashing lights. The seat is hugging and well padded. Snagged it and couldn’t wait till I see those little chubby feats dangling trying to reach the flour. She liked it, was really excited to be standing by herself.

!Nutellaholic .. Not so holic

So I was hypnotized by the pictures and the thought, I saw it on ilsul6ana while I was at work “ fasting” and thought today it will be the day to actually ruin my Diet Care based Fotour and add the component of this yummy looking Wooowey sounding dessert . Picked the phone and insisted that my colleague order her own sinful yumminess as well.

It came, and it was not good! The outer backed cake was jelly like! Flabby and not consistent at all. The promised Nutella filling was water like! No thickness No texture and NO TASTE of Nutella! The home backed goodie that I usually appreciate was a real disappointment.
I am sorry my dear Nutellaholic – Nutella Molten Cake, But It was really not so holic !

Have you ever tried those flat choowy pieces of heaven? If not, you must you must. I knew of choowy Goowy basically since its out of Essa’s brain kitchen and was first open to public. Always been fond of Kuwaiti’s entrepreneurship, following every new thing that is put on this society’s table.
Tried almost every single flavor and finally found my sin.

Panadol Sinus VS. Otrivin

If you don’t know what’s Otrivin yet, you might be one of the 27% lucky people world wide who does not have seasonal flue or casual cold every now and then!
Unfortunately I know Otrivin very well as it sleeps next to me in the night when I have runny nose then blocked nose all in consecutive twenty minutes.

Otrivin is a magical nasal drops or spray that tend to open any blockage and defeat any inconvenience caused by that mysterious thingS that prevent you from breathing good and tasting food.

1 spray before sleeping will do the magic, dosage warning is fishy and the long term use of Otrivin is not recommended by doctors. Its not appreciated to take a spray or drop of Otrivin more than 3 times a day, and its extremely advised against using Otrivin for 4 days in a row. Claims of side effects like fast heart beats and lower blood pressure, not to mention the rumor that suggests Otrivin being highly addictive.

In spite of all that, I love Otrivin and NEED to use it in the night when all the gates are closed and no air comes to my brains, Plus I hate when I breath from my mouth!

All that was applied till I tried the gentle on stomach Panadol Sinus, The box is purple which is my favorite color and the bills are small and swallowing friendly. I was not sure that It will be as fast and effective as Otrivin, But it was.

So people who are already hooked on Otrivin, ditch the white tinny bottle that you’ve been sniffing all day long, and switch to Panadol Sinus.

Its healthier and will not cause any itchiness in your sute little noses.

I first heard about Hiba Hamada when I was in high school, she was friends with my cousins and went to the same school they went to. I personally knew Hiba Hamada in college when we shared the same campus but different majors. Hiba and I also shared a passion for writing, we used to sit in a wooden bench and read to each other our creative productions of short stories, poetry and texts.

We always knew that Hiba is extremely talented, and that one day she will be someone who influence the masses with either a book or a novel. Never thought that her celebrity will extend to actually enter every house in Kuwait!

Hiba – to the two people who just came out of a dungeon– is the one who writes the highly appreciated, respected and anticipated Ramadan TV drama serious. She started with “ Fudha Galbha Abyath” and continued with “ Abla Noura” starring Hayat Al Fahad, and still shinning this season with both “ Omaima Fi Dar Al Aytam” and “Zwarat Khamees”.

Hiba sais that her parents played big role in shinig her raw talent: “ In my parents hand every creature turns into a diamond in the rough” said Hiba. And she did, she also turned into this star, whom not only brought back the sparks into Kuwaiti drama shows, but also set the bar extremely high to those who think that they will capture the reviwers attention with anything and everything they present.

I realized also the new path Hiba is leading the local TV shows into. With 3 out of 5 of her previous and recent work, she adopted the form of ensemble “ group stardom” . In both her scenarios this year we notice that there is no leading role or an ultimate star! There is a group of well chosen actors and actresses put together to tell one big story.

People seem to really like the new style, talented young actors are taking their shine time and Hiba is getting more recognized by the day.

Way to go my friend .. I am truly proud of you.

Diet Care .. To eat or not to eat!

I was very suspicious of it, contemplating .. speculating whether it will work or not! Most importantly, Will be delicious enough to keep me coming back till I loose the baby weight I’ve been packing since January?

I started dieting 2 weeks before Ramadan, Feeling it, putting myself on it and being the good girl I’ve always been when U.S trip is getting closer and a shopping euphoria is promised. I have to get in shape before the end of September. Impossible? Experts sais its very doable with the right state of mind and well power. Courtney Kardashian is not better than me neither Kendra Wilkinson!

Yes its true that they have to be in shape for a living, Yes its true that they have the time and resources to have personal trainers and private healthy food chefs, but it doesn’t matter!! I have my elliptical machine and Diet Care Boutique just two minutes away from home.

Here I come Zahra Co-op : My first visit to the DC kiosk:
Hmmmmmm too many choices and so much to think about, The dishes doesn’t seem so diety to me specially when I am Dr. Bader Al Nasrallah graduate in my first child baby weight loss! How will I loose weight eating Koshari, Biryani, Penne Arabiatta and Sweet Cups?

Its all about the calories and with my weight and height I have to consume 1200 calories a day and Ramadan is just the right time to boycott my mom’s Iftar table with all the naughty stuff on it. I go to DC kiosk every day at 3:pm to choose my dish and extras. I don’t eat Sohour so I can actually consume all my calories by Iftar.

Surprisingly .. Its really good, very yummy and very satisfying.
